As a part of Lehigh's 2013 celebration of the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Lehigh University students, staff, and community members visited the MLK memorial and other historical sites in Washington, DC. The bus trip was organized by the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
"It's not really site-seeing per se," said Sam Hodges '13. "We're here to look at the monuments, but we're also here to process things in the context of Martin Luther King's vision for the country. We're incorporating the themes of social justice and other things that King advocated for."
