Lehigh for Life

As one who spends his days on campus, it was a joy to see so many of our alumni attend Reunion Weekend this year. Our Lehigh community is expanding, and alumni now interact with each other online, in clubs, and through volunteer programs. However, seeing each other face-to-face at Reunion is a unique opportunity to reconnect while celebrating your Lehigh heritage.

Reunion weekend has always been open to everyone regardless of class year – and now we are making the event even more inviting to all Lehigh alumni. Next year, Reunion will become part of an all-encompassing Alumni Weekend designed for all alumni, family, and friends. During the weekend, we will celebrate all of our five-year Reunion classes, as well as the benchmark Reunion years of 1964 and 1989. We welcome you to join us next year for an unforgettable experience! To get updates and photographs from the 2013 event, please visit @LehighAlumni or the Alumni Association Facebook page.

Another popular annual Lehigh event is almost upon us, and that is our Student Sendoffs! Help us welcome the Class of 2017 at a local Sendoff near you. Lehigh Sendoffs take place regionally across the country in late summer. These events are completely free, and give our incoming students a chance to make friends and connect with alumni before beginning their four years at Lehigh. We are encouraging you to participate and to give our incoming students a warm welcome into the Lehigh family.

Additionally, it is never too early to start thinking about autumn events. The 2013 Lehigh Football season tickets are now on sale! If you’ve been reminiscing about last year’s season, miss the thunderous cheers at games, or want to plan the games you’ll attend, make sure you check out the Fall 2013 Football Schedule. And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 149th meeting of the Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry on November 23rd at Goodman Stadium—don’t miss this year’s big game!

Staying connected to each other and to campus is an integral part of the Lehigh for Life experience. I hope this issue of the Alumni E-newsletter inspires you to attend a new event—or to make a gift in support of the Lehigh family. The end of our fiscal year is in sight, so please support Lehigh before June 30 to make an impact on students and programs for generations to come. Together, through our actions, the Lehigh family can have a positive impact on our future leaders and the world.

Yours in Brown & White,
Bob Wolfenden
