For his contributions to Lehigh’s academic environment, interaction with the student body, and dedication, Perry A. Zirkel, University Professor of Education and Law, has received the Panhellenic Outstanding Faculty Award.
The annual award was established by the Panhellenic Council to recognize a faculty member for his or her accomplishments within the Lehigh community. Zirkel has been a member of the Lehigh faculty for 27 years.
In her presentation remarks, Angelinne Panepresso, of Delta Gamma Sorority, said of Zirkel, “This year’s recipient has a dedication to the university that extends beyond regular office hours. He truly believes that his work is not only during class time, but continues until students reach their maximum potential. He has been described as being ‘a strong limb of the Lehigh University tree of academia.’”
Zirkel, a member of the College of Education faculty, has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate classes, and has also served as a Taylor College Faculty Fellow.
