Lehigh Business School Gets $10 Million Donation

The $10 million gift made by Joseph R. Perella and his wife, Amy Perella was covered in the Express Times. The gift, the largest ever made to the university's business college, will endow the Perella Department of Finance in the university's College of Business and Economics and strengthen the finance department and support endowed chairs for professors.

McCoy Took his Lumps, Now Aims to Take Gold

Lehigh’s assistant wrestling coach Kerry McCoy was quoted in another article about his quest for Olympic gold when he competes in the U.S. Olympic Trials at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis in May. “A gold medal would be the ultimate,” said McCoy. “I have an Olympic flag hanging in my bedroom; I see it every time I wake up and go to sleep.”

Lehigh University student-athletes recently participated in the C.O.A.C.H. program (Community Outreach by Athletes who Care about Helping), an initiative that this year featured an Adopt-A-Family effort. Each varsity team at Lehigh adopted an underprivileged family to help share in the holiday season. Over the course of the semester, student-athletes from each team raised money to buy gifts for their families. A photograph of two of the Lehigh students who participated--Michelle Schwendenmann and Cassidy Maumus--appeared in the NCAA News.

Allen High Trio View Space Science History

Lehigh was mentioned in an article on two Allen students, Josh Harmony and C.J. Bryan, and a teacher, Don Stouch, who were three of only a few humans to witness rover venture onto the dusty surface of the mystical red planet, Mars. Bryan's interest in science, his mother said, is somewhat of a family affair. His father, Peter, is a civil engineer at Lehigh University.
