Bach Choir history is topic of talk
Paul S. Larson discusses how the Bach Choir came to perform at Lehigh University's Packer Church in a free public lecture titled "The Bach Choir at Lehigh: Origins of a Unique Town/Gown Tradition."
The lecture is sponsored by the Friends of the Lehigh Libraries and will take place at noon Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Room 200 of Linderman Library.
The talk will also illuminate other interesting links between the Wolle family and Lehigh, such as Bach Choir founder J. Fred Wolle's role as the first organist at Packer Church and as a music teacher at the university. Larson is the author of An American Musical Dynasty: A Biography of the Wolle Family of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania , which was
published in 2002 by the Lehigh University Press. Dr. Larson is also professor emeritus, Moravian College, where he taught music education, non-Western music, and music history. Call 610-758-3039 for more information.
