Football squad tackles Georgetown

The Mountain Hawks enter the day as one of three unbeatens in Patriot League play, while the Hoyas are on a tear of their own, winners of their last three contests.

Since Georgetown joined the Patriot League in football, Lehigh is 2-0 against the Hoyas, winning by an average score of 55-7.

Last time out, Lehigh (4-2 overall, 2-0 Patriot League) bested Saint Mary’s by a 35-7 score at Goodman Stadium on Oct. 11. The Mountain Hawks' defense recorded nine sacks in the victory.

Meanwhile, the Hoyas (3-4 overall, 1-2 Patriot League) are coming off a 42-20 win at Cornell last week. Georgetown has won its last three contests, and is led by senior receiver Luke McArdle, who leads the nation in all-purpose yards per game.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Harbin Field, and the action can be heard live on Oldies 1470 in the Lehigh Valley, as well as worldwide on the Lehigh web site at www.lehighsports.com.
