Thursday, April 29: Visiting Fulbright Scholar from Kazakhstan

Yelena Zigangirova, a Fulbright Scholar and associate professor from the Energy Power Department in Kazakhstan will present a seminar on "New Approaches to Curriculum Development in Renewable Energy Technologies for Proposed Master's of Engineering Programs."

The seminar is from noon-1 p.m. It is a brown bag session, so bring your own lunch.

The Global Women's Discussion Series presents “Global Beauty: A Psychological and Commercial Question?” from noon-1 p.m. in The Women’s Center, UC 207. Refreshments will be served.

Thursday, April 29: 25th Annual Student Life Leadership Awards

Students will be recognized for their extraordinary contributions in the areas of student life, Greek life, multicultural affairs, community service and volunteerism, student advising, leadership, character, and academics and athletics.

“This is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the successes and achievements of our students, ranging from diversity programming to student leadership to service to dedication to student organizations and campus initiatives over their four years,” said Matt Kitchie, Lehigh’s director of student activities who serves on the Student Life Leadership Awards planning committee. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate the students who have truly made a difference on this campus and in the South Bethlehem community.”

The outdoor ceremony will begin at 4:15 p.m. at the base of the Memorial Drive flagpole.

Friday, April 30: “Pride of Lions”

The Lehigh Valley chapter of Engineers without Borders presents the award-winning documentary film about the civil war in the African nation of Sierra Leone. Dr. Bailor Barrie, who is featured in the film, will speak before and after it is shown.

The event begins at 6 p.m. in Packard Auditorium.
