Monday, Feb. 8: “Polynomial Programming Relaxations of Binary Quadratic Problems”

The distinguished lecture series of the INFORMS student chapter club in the department of industrial and systems engineering features Juan Vera, visiting professor of management science at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. The event begins at 3 p.m. in Room 451 of Mohler Lab.

The office of graduate student life and the office of career services present an address by Yatin Karpe, associate director of the office of technology transfer. The event begins at 4:15 p.m. in the Graduate Student Center in the Packer House.

Wednesday, Feb. 10: “Enhancing our Antibiotic Arsenal Using Systems Biology”

The colloquium series of the department of chemical engineering features Mark P. Brynildsen, a professor of biomedical engineering at Boston University and a research scientist with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The event begins at 2:30 p.m. in Room B013 of Iacocca Hall.

Wednesday, Feb. 10: “Intelligent Integrated Microfluidics—Molecular Recognition and Catalysis in Single Nanopores and Nanopore Arrays”

The seminar series of the department of chemistry features Paul W. Bohn, professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering and also of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. The event begins at 4 p.m. in Neville Auditorium 3.

Wednesday, Feb. 10: “Spatial DFTs and Estimation of Covariogram based on Irregularly Spaced Spatial Data”

Estizer Smith, a photographer living in Easton, Pa., presents a photodocumentary of her work. The event begins at 7 p.m. in Perella Auditorium of the Rauch Business Center. It is sponsored by the Women’s Center and is part of Lehigh’s celebration of Black History Month.

Thursday, Feb. 11: “Sex Differences in Convict Cichlid Biparental Care: Studies from the Field”

The colloquium series of the department of biological sciences features Jennnifer Snekser, a Thorne Fellowship recipient and Ph.D. candidate at Lehigh. The event begins at 4:10 p.m. in Room B023 of Iacocca Hall.

Friday, Feb. 12: “Ecosystem Stability and Resilience at the Desert Margins”

The seminar series of the department of earth and environmental sciences features Paolo D’Odorico, associate professor of environmental sciences at the University of Virginia. The event begins at noon in Room 100 of Williams Hall.
