Lehigh University’s department of Industrial & Systems Engineering
is marking its 60th anniversary, and the 35th anniversary of its Enterprise Systems Center, with a celebration on Thursday, April 16, 2009. The program will run all afternoon into the evening, culminating with a banquet for faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the department.

As part of the day’s events, John McGlade '76, '80G
, president, CEO and chairman of the board of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., will deliver a speech as part of the department's Spencer C. Schantz Distinguished Lecture Series. McGlade earned a B.S. in industrial engineering 1976, and his M.B.A. in 1980, both from Lehigh. He currently serves on the board of directors of the American Chemistry Council, and is a member of the Society of Chemistry Industry Executive Committee, the SteelStax Leadership Team, and on Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees.
The event coincides with Lehigh's "2009 Academic Symposium: A Tradition of Excellence"
, which will highlight outstanding examples of Lehigh undergraduate and graduate student research and creative work from across the university, as well as noted speakers from Princeton, Yale, UCLA, and UC-Berkeley.
