Lehigh Launches New Home Page

Lehigh University today launched its new home page at lehigh.edu. University Communications led the redesign, which highlights the beauty of the Lehigh campus and includes in-depth feature stories and content for targeted audiences.

As Lehigh's virtual front door, the home page is often the first point of contact for new visitors such as prospective students and families. This first impression can greatly influence perceptions of the university.

In its effort to create an engaging and streamlined user experience, the team studied Google analytics and secondary research to understand site usage, surveyed audiences to measure user satisfaction, conducted focus groups of prospective students and their families visiting campus, and benchmarked the websites of peer and aspirational institutions for comparison.

The resulting home page features vibrant images of campus that provide visitors with a true sense of place.

Dynamic content showcases Lehigh’s many strengths in academics, research and student life. User-friendly top navigation and clear calls to action allow visitors to locate and view pertinent information with ease on desktop and mobile devices. A universal page footer, to be incorporated across lehigh.edu as well as the websites of other Lehigh offices and departments, directs visitors to Lehigh’s social media accounts and contact information.
