Lehigh grads rank among nation's top earners

It pays to get a Lehigh education. That’s the conclusion of the latest study conducted by PayScale, an online salary and compensation information company.

According to PayScale, the mid-career median salary for Lehigh graduates is $118,000. And the starting median salary for a Lehigh graduate is $56,900.

Lehigh tied with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for sixth overall in the 2012-2013 PayScale College Salary Report, which measures the mid-career salaries of workers with undergraduate degrees from more than 1,000 schools. Graduates who earned an advanced degree beyond a bachelor’s degree were not included in the survey.

Lehigh tied with MIT for third in the research university category and fourth in the private school category.

In the 2011-12 report by PayScale, Lehigh graduates ranked ninth overall and tied with Stanford for eighth in the private research university category.
