Interviews
Interviews at Lehigh University are designed for students who would feel more comfortable in a one-on-one situation, have many specific questions, and/or have a personal situation to discuss. Interviews are NOT required for admission. Though evaluative in nature, they are one part of the holistic review our staff uses when considering an application for admission. The outcome of an admissions decision, therefore, should not be interpreted as a reflection of the student's performance during the interview.
Interviews on Campus
On-campus interviews last approximately 45 minutes and, in terms of demonstrated interest, are considered equivalent to the Group Information Sessions (thus, doing both the Group Session and interview is unnecessary). In fact, we highly recommend that the Group Information Session be your first choice since it is more comprehensive.
Available to students from March of their junior year of high school through December of their senior year, at this time on-campus interviews are not available. On-campus interviews for juniors will be offered weekdays beginning March 14.
On-campus interviews require an appointment and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Please call the Admissions Office at 610.758.3100 at least one day in advance.
Applicant Interviews
If you are unable to visit campus or meet with a Lehigh admissions counselor in your area, the Office of Admissions extends first-year applicants additional opportunities to interview online and in person (in select areas) during the months of December, January, and February.
You should take advantage of this opportunity if you want Lehigh to learn more about you and if you would like to learn more about the Lehigh Experience from a current student or alumnus. Our Admissions Fellows, a selective group of current Lehigh seniors, and Alumni Admissions Outreach (AAO) Volunteers, a group of dedicated Lehigh Alumni, provide the informational Applicant Interviews. While feedback from the Admissions Fellow or AAO Volunteer will be added to your application, they do not have the authority to make admissions decisions.
Applicant interviews are available to regular decision applicants ONLY. Priority will be given to those who:
- Have not met with an Admissions representative individually, have not attended an on-campus information session, and/or have not had an on- or off-campus interview (as an Applicant Interview would be repetitive) AND
- Are applicants from the following U.S. states:
