In support of Lehigh University's commitment to inclusive community and equity, a gender neutral housing option will be available to all upper class students for the first time beginning in the fall of 2010. Gender neutral housing is defined as a housing option in which two or more students may share a room, suite or apartment, in mutual agreement, regardless of the students’ sex or gender. Gender neutral housing supports the university's nondiscrimination policy and commits to the principles of social justice with respect to sexual orientation, sex, gender and gender identity/expression. Additionally, gender neutral housing offers students who are uncomfortable with a same-sex roommate or who do not wish to have a same-sex roommate additional housing options.
During 2013-2014, gender neutral housing will be offered within a section of Brodhead House.
