Carl E. Petrillo 1962
Carl E. Petrillo earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University in 1962. While a student, he was a member of Delta Tau Delta, the staff of the Brown and White, and the Interfraternity Council. Following graduation, Petrillo joined his father Edward’s business, Yonkers Contracting Company, Inc. as a project engineer. He rose through the ranks to his current position of president and chief executive of the company.
Petrillo has been honored by numerous New York-area non-profits for his volunteer work, and has been a long-time volunteer and generous supporter of Lehigh. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees for more than a decade, where he served on the executive, physical planning and plant, and student affairs committees. Petrillo also served on the development committee for Shine Forever: The Campaign for Lehigh, the university’s $508 million campaign. He was a member of the Reunion Fund committees for his 30th and 35th class reunions. Petrillo was honored with the Alumni Award in 1972.
Petrillo’s support of Lehigh includes the Edward J. Petrillo Endowed Scholarship, the Annual Campaign for the Friends of Zoellner Arts Center, the Lehigh Fund, the Challenge Scholarship program, and the Lehigh University Global Initiatives Fund in honor of Gregory C. Farrington.
Father to four children, including Christina ’91, Petrillo and his wife Dian live in New York City.
