Beatrix and Lunsford Richardson, Jr. 1946
Lunsford Richardson is chairman of Richardson Properties Inc. and president of Hillsdale Fund Inc. He was a director of Richardson-Vicks for many years before it was bought by Procter and Gamble Company in 1985. He takes a leading role in community affairs, currently as a trustee of the Norwalk (CT) YMCA and the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, and a director of the Human Services Council of Mid-Fairfield.
He attended Davidson College for a year before transferring to Lehigh and received his B.S. in business administration in 1946. He served for two terms on the Visiting Committee for the College of Business and Economics and was a major supporter of the Seeley G. Mudd Building and the Rauch Business Center. Richardson also established a dean's fund for equipment, summer research grants, and faculty development in the College of Business and Economics. He continues to support Lehigh’s annual fund, and is a member of the Tower Society.
Richardson divides his time between Connecticut and Greensboro, NC where much of his business is centered. He and his wife, Bea, have two daughters and a son.
