Elizabeth and Robert S. Nanovic 1960
Robert S. Nanovic graduated from the University of Notre Dame and then served as an officer with the U.S. Army in Germany. He earned an MBA from Lehigh in 1960 while working full-time at the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company.
After receiving his degree, Nanovic joined the Freeport Sulphur Company. Later, one of his former professors from Lehigh, George Walters, introduced him to the General Tire and Rubber Company, where he managed retirement funds. In 1972, Nanovic and a partner established their own investment firm, Wilkens and Nanovic Associates.
At Lehigh, Nanovic and his wife, Elizabeth, have supported the Rauch Business Center, the Shine Forever campaign, and the Robert S. Nanovic ’60G Endowed Fellowship Fund for 10 students annually in the MBA program of the College of Business and Economics.
The Nanovics reside in Maine and Florida. In Maine, Nanovic serves on the boards of the Portland Museum of Art and Portland Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Cheverus High School, a Jesuit college preparatory school. The Nanovics are generous donors to Notre Dame and other educational institutions.
