Investing in World-Class Faculty
With the ability to move more nimbly than larger institutions, Lehigh University enjoys a competitive edge in seeking new approaches to teaching and creative research that are desperately needed in preparing leaders and in contributing to new discoveries in the 21st century.
Guided by strategic goals in grand challenge areas (globalization; energy, environment and infrastructure; health; and South Bethlehem) Lehigh strives to attract the most talented faculty researchers regardless of their disciplinary backgrounds through endowed chairs and professorships. Lehigh must also provide additional funding to support ongoing professional growth of our faculty and their efforts within the university's four colleges. Interdisciplinary initiatives such as STEPS also advance Lehigh's strategic goals by providing exceptional platforms for collaboration that will contribute to new knowledge.
