LeVaughn Nesbitt ’13

Philadelphia, PA
Major: Accounting
Minor: Entrepreneurship

“My advice to future Lehigh students is to optimize your potential. Lehigh is a place that has a great pool of resources. Network, get to know people, and take your academic course work very serious. If you work hard at becoming the person you desire to be, at the point when you graduate you will have become that person. Don’t forget to have fun!”

Why did you choose Lehigh?
After visiting the campus, I left with an amazing feeling. I imagined what it would be like to be a student at Lehigh, and to be part of a distinguished university that was highly ranked in my field of interest, accounting. The first hand perspective of a few Lehigh graduates was the selling point that sealed the deal for me.

What was your favorite Lehigh “moment”?
My favorite Lehigh moment was the 19th Annual Accounting Professionalism Conference.

What is the value of your Lehigh degree?
Connections that last a lifetime. If success is truly measured by who you know, rather than what you know, a degree in business from Lehigh will connect you with highly successful alumni who've already become leaders in their respective fields. The Lehigh brand is also known for it's excellence and prestige, associating yourself with this brand by obtaining a Lehigh business degree, can open doors for you that you never knew existed.

What are your career aspirations?
I would like to become a Certified Public Accountant and gain some corporate experience working for one of the big four accounting firms. After a few years of on the job experience, I would like to enroll in the University of Pennsylvania’s MBA program. I would also like to teach accounting one day.
