The Lehigh MS/PhD programs Admission Requirements include:
Essay and resume must be submitted through online application. Emailed, faxed or mailed copies will not be accepted.

*A score of at least 600 and 50th percentile in the quantitative section improves the prospect of admissions

Application and Fee
To apply for the Lehigh MS/PhD programs, use Lehigh’s online application system.
- New users create a log-in ID [case sensitive] and six digit PIN number. Please retain your log-in ID and PIN so that you may return to the application later to review, finish, and submit.
- Choose the application type: Graduate Business and Economics
- International applicants must check the International Application box.
- Choose Term of Entry.
- Upon submission, you may view your application checklist status by using your log-in ID and six digit PIN number created in Step #1.
The online application system also accepts your essay, resume and letters of recommendation. Scanned copies are acceptable, but online applicants must submit original documents for their official transcripts directly to the Graduate Programs Office. Include a cover sheet with your documents listing your full application name, date of birth, and log-in ID. The online application accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards for payment of the $100.00 application fee.
The Lehigh MS/PhD program application fee may not be waived nor deferred, and it is non-refundable.
The Lehigh MS/PhD program application essay should provide a summary of your career objectives and relevant work experience with reference to the chosen field of graduate study, and the leadership experience and skills you will bring to your peer group. The essay should not exceed two pages in length. This is your opportunity to set yourself apart from the other applicants…in your own words. The essay should be downloaded in the online application. Paper copies are not accepted.

Graduate Admissions Test ® [GMAT]
The GMAT is required of all entering applicants except those who hold an academic doctorate, juris doctorate or medical doctorate. GMAT scores will be accepted for evaluation by the Lehigh MS/PhD programs as long as your official score is available through the testing service. Please indicate on your online or paper application the date you are taking [or have taken] the GMAT.

You must submit official transcripts from ALL universities attended. Official transcripts bear the signature of the university’s registrar and the seal of the issuing institution. The registrar’s office of your prior institution[s] will require written authorization for the release of your transcripts. Our sample transcript request form contains the information required by the registrar’s office. The transcripts must be submitted to us in a sealed envelope and may not be opened by you.

International applicants, in general, must have 16 years of formal education, including four years at the university level, to be considered for admission to the Lehigh M.S and Ph.D. programs. Applicants should submit official English translation in addition to credentials in the original language. If credentials do not record the awarding of the degree received, you must submit certified true copies of your diplomas. If credentials do not show the grading system used by the university, you must also submit a separate official statement from the university that gives this information.
International students who can not provide the required documentation will have to supply a Course By Course Evaluation (fees for this service are the responsibility of the applicant). The National Association of Crendential Evaluation Services, www.naces.org lists a number of accredited evaluation companies that can provide Course by Course Evaluations.
Letters of Recommendation
You will enter your recommenders' information through the online application. Once complete, a web link will automatically be emailed to the recommender. Letters from family members or friends will not be considered. Paper copies are not accepted.
Test of English as a Foreign Language® TOEFL
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language®. Please note that the IELTS is not accepted.
An applicant's TOEFL may not be older than 2 years at the time of your application to the program. the LEHIGH MS/PhD programs will continue to accept all versions of the TOEFL test as long as the scores come directly from the Educational Testing Service. Scores must be received directly from ETS to be considered official. Lehigh’s institution code number is: 2365, department code 02.

College of Business and Economics Graduate Students currently average 600 on the paper-based TOEFL exam.
If an applicant has completed a baccalaureate or graduate degree or at least 2 years of full-time post-secondary education in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia or Canada, he or she may be exempt from the TOEFL. The applicant is not exempt if the language of instruction is English in a non-English speaking country or if you have lived in an English-speaking country. *For the MSAIA program, English language skills are highly important to success in the program and an internet-based TOEFL (IBT) of 105 will improve your prospect of admission. Admitted applicants are typically required to complete the English as a Second Language American Business English (ABE) program before beginning their graduate program.
International students interested in applying for college-awarded financial aid will be required to pass a Lehigh University SPEAK test upon arrival at Lehigh with a score of at least 230. The College will use the new internet-based TOEFL [iBT] as a screening tool for the awarding of financial aid to international students. In order to be considered, you must achieve a speaking section score of 28, and a listening section score of 20. All awards are contingent upon passing the Lehigh SPEAK test. International Students must submit an original or notarized financial guarantee demonstrating sufficient funds to meet educational expenses for the first year of study. Original bank statement or bank letters are acceptable. Include an original letter of sponsorship if the expenses will be paid by someone other than the student. The minimum amount you must cover to show solvency for immigration documents is $41,220 and includes the following costs:

Please note that $41,220 is the minimum amount you must show for immigration purposes. The student's actual expenses will be greater and does not include the $1,200 estimated for books and supplies, as well as personal and transportation expenses. Immigration documents will only be issued upon acceptance of an offer of admission from the Lehigh MS/PhD programs and verification of your original Financial guarantee, TOEFL score, and non-refundable $1,000 tuition enrollment deposit has been completed and received.Test of Spoken English or Lehigh University SPEAK Test
International students interested in financial aid in the form of assistantships must provide test scores for the Test of Spoken English [TSE], administered by ETS, or a Lehigh University SPEAK score. There is no exception to this requirement.
