Application Requirements

The Lehigh MBA Admission Requirements include:

Essay and resume must be submitted through online application. Emailed, faxed or mailed copies will not be accepted.

  12. Attend mandatory MBA orientation after acceptance (Fall 2013: Aug. 16 and 17)

1. Application and Fee
 
To apply for the Lehigh MBA Program, use Lehigh's online application system.
  1. New users create a log-in ID [case sensitive] and six digit PIN number. Please retain your log-in ID and PIN so that you may return to the application later to review, finish, and submit.
  2. Choose the application type: Graduate Business and Economics
  3. International applicants must check the International Application box.
  4. Choose Term of Entry. The Lehigh MBA applicants may enter in the Fall, Spring or Summer Sessions.
  5. Upon submission, you may view your application checklist status by using your log-in ID and six digit PIN number created in Step #1.

The online application system will also accept your essay and resume. The online application accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards for payment of the application fee of $250.00 for domestic students, or $100.00 for international students. International applicants should pay by credit card, money order, or certified bank check. Make all drafts payable to Lehigh University. The Lehigh MBA application fee may not be waived nor deferred, and it is non-refundable.

2. Essay
The Lehigh MBA application essay should provide a summary of your career objectives and relevant work experience with reference to the chosen field of graduate study, and the leadership experience and skills you will bring to your peer group. This is your opportunity to set yourself apart from the other applicants, in your own words. The essay should be downloaded in the online application. Paper copies will not be accepted.

3. Resume
Your professional resume should list your education and professional achievements. Include your computing skills. The resume should be downloaded in the online application. Paper copies will not be accepted.

4. GMAT or GRE Test Results
Either the Gradute Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required of all entering applicants except those who hold an academic doctorate, juris doctorate or medical doctorate. The doctorate must be equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree. Only GRE scores from the newly-revised test will be accepted; scores from the older version (before Aug. 1, 2011) will NOT be accepted.
 
International credentials may need to be evaluated by World Education Services. GMAT or GRE scores will be accepted for evaluation of the Lehigh MBA program as long as your official score is available through the testing service. Please indicate on your online application the date you are taking [or have taken] the GMAT or GRE.

Please use the proper program code shown below to have your official scores sent to Lehigh. Our office keeps GMAT scores on file for a period of two years. Official scores normally arrive at the MBA office two weeks after the exam has been taken.

MBA & Engineering:
Use appropriate MBA Full-time or Part-time code for all engineering disciplines except Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which require submission of GRE scores only.

MBA & Educational Leadership:
Use appropriate Full-time or Part-time code.

**If you have already taken the GMAT, you may order score reports to be sent to Lehigh through www.mba.com. The website provides instructions for ordering score reports online, by phone, by fax, or by mail.

5. Official Transcripts
You must submit official transcripts from ALL universities attended, all post-secondary education including transfer credits. Official transcripts bear the signature of the university's registrar and the seal of the issuing institution. The registrar's office of your prior institution[s] will require written authorization for the release of your transcripts. Our sample transcript request form contains information that will be required by the registrar's office. The transcripts must be submitted to us in a sealed envelope and may not be opened by you.

International applicants, in general, must have 16 years of formal education, including four years at the university level, to be considered for admission to the Lehigh MBA program. Applicants should submit official English translation in addition to credentials in the original language. If credentials do not record the awarding of the degree received, you must submit certified true copies of your diplomas. If credentials do not show the grading system used by the university, you must also submit a separate official statement from the university that gives this information.

Several academic credential evaluation services are available to international students who cannot provide the required international documentation. www.wes.org lists a number of accredited evaluation services from which applicants may choose.

6. Letters of Recommendation 
You will enter your recommenders' information through the online application. Once complete, a web link will automatically be emailed to the recommender. Letters from family members or friends will not be considered. Paper copies of letters of recommendation will not be accepted.

7. College-Awarded Financial Aid
Financial aid for graduate students in the College of Business and Economics is awarded based on academic performance and in some cases work experience.Students interested in financial aid must file a complete application and be admitted to a graduate program within the College of Business and Economics before January 15. Aid is awarded through the Graduate Financial Aid Committee in March for the following academic year. Students being considered for financial aid will be contacted for an interview by the supervising professor. Faculty will not interview students who have not applied and been admitted to a graduate program within the College of Business and Economics.

International applicants interested in applying for college awarded financial aid will be required to pass a Lehigh University SPEAK test upon arrival at Lehigh with a score of at least 230. The College will use the new internet-based TOEFL (iBT) as a screening tool for the awarding of financial aid to international students. In order to be considered, you must achieve a speaking section score of 28 and a listening section score of 20. All awards are contingent upon passing the Lehigh SPEAK test. 8. Professional Work Experience
Students coming from a traditional undergraduate degree must have two years of full-time, professional post-baccalaureate employment. Internships and co-ops do not apply to the two-year rule.

Students who pursued their undergraduate degree as adults or via continuing education, and who also have full-time work experience, are eligible to apply.

9. Test of English as a Foreign Language Score [TOEFL]

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language®.

A student's TOEFL may not be older than two years at the time of your application to the program. The Lehigh MBA program will continue to accept all versions of the TOEFL test as long as the scores come directly from the Educational Testing Service. Scores must be received directly from ETS to be considered official. Lehigh's institution code number is: 2365.

Speaking: 24
Writing: 25

International students who can not provide the required documentation will have to supply a Course By Course Evaluation (fees for this service are the responsibility of the applicant). The National Association of Crendential Evaluation Services, www.naces.org lists a number of accredited evaluation companies that can provide Course by Course Evaluations.
