Our Kind of Roundtable
A team of nearly 20 Lehigh first and second year students traveled to New York City this spring to immerse themselves in the world of international business.
Their trip took them to the United Nations. Lehigh became the 6th university in the world to be recognized as a NGO by the U.N in 2004 and, since then, Lehigh students have enjoyed unique access to U.N. briefings, conferences and diplomatic visits. Lehigh University is also the worldwide hub for the United Nations Academic Impact Initative's focus on Global Citizenship.
The students also talked business with alumni at two leading financial firms. They met with Tom DeLitto '75, Senior Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Permal Group, and Eddie Ramos '89, Senior Vice President and Lead Portfolio Manager, International Equity at Cornerstone Capital Management.
"We want to instill in our students, at a very early stage, an appreciation of global business and how global forces routinely impact business decisions and action plans," says Jim Santanasto, director of Lehigh's Rauch Center for Business Communications. "We're fortunate to have so many influential alumni in New York put time aside to regularly speak with our students."
