With another year flying by, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all the good things that have been happening on South Mountain and beyond.
On all fronts, I am proud to report that the College has been a hub of activity. From distinguished alumni such as Maria Chrin ’87 and Ira Lieberman ’64 sharing their experiences with students, to faculty weighing-in on important issues of the day, we celebrate bringing real world experience and relevant research into the classroom. Lehigh and the College are incredibly fortunate to have so many professionals engage and enlighten our students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Using the CBE Strategic Plan as our guideline, we remain focused on the priorities that will continue the upward trajectory of the College as it solidifies its place among the best in the nation. We have made great strides over the past couple of years, but the competition is strong and the ever changing business environment demands us to be ever on our toes.
This past year the faculty has been hard at work considering a variety of options to provide students with a substantive international experience. The CBE Global Steering Committee, comprised of faculty members from each discipline, has been leading this charge. Co-chairs Professor Paul Brockman and Associate Dean Katrina Zalatan provide leadership to this important group. I encourage you to visit our web page that highlights a series of “Occasional Essays on Lehigh’s Global Business Education” written by college faculty and leadership. Additional essays will be added throughout the year, with two essays recently posted by Professor Brockman and Associate Dean Zalatan.
As 2011 concludes and we look forward to a new year filled with excitement and anticipation, please accept my heartfelt best wishes for a Happy Holiday season and a New Year filled with happiness, good health, and prosperity.
