Tracy Byrnes is an anchor/reporter for the FOX Business Network (FBN).
Ms. Byrnes can be seen daily on “Varney & Co.”, one of the highest-rated shows on the network. Byrnes and her three colleagues report, dissect and opine on the day’s business news from 9:20am to 11:00am EST Monday through Friday. She then anchors FBN Live, a daily hour-long web show at noon EST, that can be viewed on foxbusiness.com.
In prior years, Ms. Byrnes co-hosted “Your Questions, Your Money,” a four-hour show on Saturdays that was devoted to small businesses and allowed viewers to call in and ask questions to expert panelists.
Ms. Byrnes also reports live from the New York Stock Exchange and covers company news with a specialization in tax and accounting issues. In addition, she appears weekly on the FOX News Channel (FNC)’s “Cashin’ In,” which is part of the channel’s powerful Saturday morning business block.
Her first book, Break Down Your Money: How to Get Beyond the Noise to Profit in the Markets, published in June 2008, helps readers understand the sometimes overwhelming language of Wall Street and make smart investing decisions.
Prior to joining FBN in October 2007, Ms. Byrnes was a recurring guest on FNC, appearing on “Cavuto on Business,” “Bulls and Bears,” and “Your World with Neil Cavuto.” She was also a weekly morning business correspondent for FOX News affiliates in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, Salt Lake City, and Washington D.C.
Ms. Byrnes started in financial journalism in 1997. She was a senior writer for TheStreet.com, where she covered personal finance and tax stories. She has also done weekly columns for the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal Online, as well as freelance work for Smart Money, Forbes and Marketwatch.com.
Ms. Byrnes is the recipient of the Newswomen's Club of New York Internet Breaking Business News Award and the NY State Society of CPAs award for Online Excellence in Journalism.
She began her career at Ernst & Young LLP, where she spent five years as a senior accountant. She is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.A. in Economics with two English minors and received her Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management.
