John R. Chrin, '85, '86, '10P

John Chrin spent 21 years advising Wall Street and Main Street banks on mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, Mr. Chrin was co-head of J.P. Morgan's financial-institutions group. While with J.P. Morgan, Chrin helped orchestrate the daring rescue of Bear Stearns, which proved pivotal in the financial crisis. He has also advised Wells Fargo on its acquisition of Wachovia and he was instrumental in PNC Financial acquiring National City.
Mr. Chrin left the industry and returned to Lehigh in the Fall of 2009 to serve as the Global Financial Executive-in-Residence, studying market developments and instructing students on how to navigate a once-in-a-lifetime credit crisis.
Chrin graduated from Lehigh in 1985 with degrees in economics and engineering and has strong ties to the university and the community.
Mr. Chrin serves as Chairman of the audit committee of Astoria Financial Corporation.
Mr. Chrin is Chair of the CBE Dean's Advisory Council as well as a member of the Executive Committee.
