Interviews on Campus

Interviews are considered equivalent to the Group Information Sessions but are designed for students who would feel more comfortable in a one-on-one situation (thus, doing the Group Session and interview is unnecessary). In fact, we highly recommend that the Group Information Session be your first choice since it is more comprehensive. Interviews are NOT required.

On-campus interviews are approximately 45 minutes and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis (appointment required*). Although interviews are considered evaluative, they are one part of the holistic review our staff uses when considering an application for admission. The outcome of an admissions decision, therefore, should not be interpreted as a reflection of the student's performance during the interview. Interviews are held in the Alumni Memorial Building and available to students from March of their junior year of high school through December of their senior year. At this time, on-campus interviews are for high school juniors/rising high school seniors only.

*Appointments are required for interviews; to schedule one at least one day in advance, please call the Admissions Office at 610.758.3100.

On-campus interviews for seniors will be offered weekdays, as indicated on the Admissions Events Calendar, at 8:30, 9:15, 10:00, 12:45, 1:30 and 2:15.

Interviews with Admissions Staff In Your Area

To ensure students from a variety of geographic areas have opportunities to learn more about Lehigh, interviews are also offered by admissions staff members in select cities around the world each fall. Please visit Lehigh In Your Area for details.

Interviews with Alumni

As you continue to explore Lehigh, the Office of Admissions would like to offer you a special opportunity. If you have not had a chance to visit Lehigh’s beautiful campus, or had a chance to meet with a Lehigh Admissions representative who has visited your area, the Alumni Interview may interest you.  Over 800 Lehigh Alumni serve as Alumni Admissions Outreach (AAO) Volunteers. Their goal is to bring the LEHIGH EXPERIENCE to prospective students across the country.  If you would like to learn more about Lehigh from our expert AAO Volunteers,  and would like to give Lehigh the chance to learn more about you, please respond to this invitation today.

When considering an Alumni Interview, there are several factors to keep in mind.  Priority will be given to those students who meet all of the following qualifications:

  • Alumni Interviews are exclusively offered to SENIORS who are Regular Decision applicants
  • Alumni Interviews are not offered to Lehigh Legacies.
  • Alumni Interviews are available only in the following states:
Alabama Indiana Montana South Carolina
Alaska Iowa Nebraska South Dakota
Arizona Kansas Nevada Tennessee
Arkansas Kentucky New Hampshire Texas
California Louisiana New Mexico Utah
Colorado Maine New York (upstate) Vermont
Florida Massachusetts North Carolina Virginia
Georgia Michigan North Dakota Washington
Hawaii Minnesota Ohio West Virgina
Idaho Mississippi Oklahoma Wisconsin
Illinois Missouri Oregon Wyoming

Priority will be given to students who have: not met with an Admissions representative individually, not attended an on-campus information session, or not had an on- or off-campus interview. An Alumni Interview would be repetitive for prospective students who had previously taken advantage of any of the above opportunities.
  • Alumni Interviews are informational only, and do not serve as an evaluative piece during the application process.  It’s an opportunity for you to know Lehigh Alumni in your area, and learn about Lehigh from their experience.
  • Alumni Interviews are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Alumni Interviews will take at least two weeks to coordinate.
  • Alumni Interviews will take place during the months of December, January, and February.

Priority will be given to those students who meet all of the above requirements. If you do not meet all of the requirements, but would still like to speak with an alum in your area, we will attempt to accommodate your request.  To accept this offer, please register online after you have submitted your regular decision application materials to Lehigh.

The deadline for 2012 Fall applicants has passed.

Once you have registered you will be contacted by an AAO Volunteer in your area, if one is available. Once you have been contacted, you and your assigned AAO Volunteer will arrange a meeting time and place. If you have not heard from an AAO Volunteer by February 10 please contact Sarah Knechel at lehighaao@lehigh.edu.

The Alumni Interview is a fantastic opportunity that we hope you’ll take part in.  If you have any questions regarding Alumni Interviews or Lehigh Admissions please contact Sarah Knechel at lehighaao@lehigh.edu.
