Lehigh University's program in Population Health prepares students to investigate the determinants of health using data science, and to identify novel and effective avenues for disease prevention, health promotion, diagnosis, and intervention. The program combines courses in population health with foundational courses in mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, and computer science. Students gain knowledge and skills through coursework, experiential learning opportunities, research projects and engagement with traditional and nontraditional partners in pursuit of a healthier world.
Career pathways for students studying in the College of Health are abundant and wide-ranging and include careers in the private sector, nonprofit organizations, including healthcare-related organizations, and local, state, federal and international governmental institutions. They may work in fields including epidemiology, medicine, data science, biostatistics, public health, community health, global health, health economics, health policy, health promotion, health research, and health technology and innovation.
