Family Weekend 2012 coincides with Bethlehem’s 25th Annual Celtic Classic, a 3-day celebration of Celtic culture and heritage.  Lehigh families are encouraged to take part in this annual festival, one of the largest of its kind in North America.  Here are some of the activities taking place –
  • US National Highland Athletic Championships
  • The “Showing of the Tartan” Parade
  • Haggis Competition
  • Solas exclusive one-time concert
  • The 14th Annual Celtic Classic Fiddle Competition

Due to the increased demand for accommodations in the Lehigh Valley, we have blocked rooms at the hotels listed below.  Please contact them directly to make your reservations and identify yourself as a Lehigh University Family Weekend participant.

Tickets and Reservations
Some Family Weekend events require advance reservations or tickets. Please check schedule listings for details on specific events. Paper tickets will not be issued. Please check in with the name of your party when you arrive.
 
You must order tickets in advance if you plan to attend any of the athletics events, Zoellner performances or University Productions events. Please call the appropriate number to acquire tickets.

Please no phone reservations. All reservations require a 48-hour notice of cancelation to receive a refund. No refunds wil be given at Family Weekend. Please contact University Events at (610) 758-3898 with any questions. Thank you.
 
Helpful Hints
 
Academics
Many members of the faculty, including academic advisors, will participate in the weekend events, giving parents the opportunity to meet with them. You may wish to ask your student to verify that a particular person will be in attendance, or to assist you in making special meeting arrangements. Of course, parents are encouraged to call faculty advisors, instructors, and other staff members anytime throughout the year to discuss issues over the phone or to arrange individual meetings.

Maps and Directions

Parking
Free parking for Family Weekend is available at the Brodhead and Packer Avenue lot and along Packer and Brodhead Avenues (except for metered spaces). Additional parking areas convenient to Saturday activities include the lot north of Whitaker Laboratory. Permits will not be required to park in this lot. Parking is also available in the Zoellner Arts Center parking deck, the Campus Square parking garage (located north of Maginnes Hall), and the Alumni Memorial Building Parking Pavilion.

Travel Assistance
For assistance with making travel arrangements and hotel reservations, you may contact Lehigh’s official travel provider, Travel Leaders at (866) 502-1924. (A service/booking fee may apply.)

Alcoholic Beverages
Lehigh reminds everyone that the state laws of Pennsylvania pertaining to alcoholic beverages are applicable to the campus and, the responsibility for observance of the laws of Pennsylvania remains with each individual. Details regarding the Lehigh University social policy can be found in the student handbook.
 
LU Bookstore
Visit the Bookstore in its Campus Square location for the latest in Lehigh clothing and mementos, or to relax in the Barnes & Noble Café! Store hours are:

Athletics Facilities
Taylor Gymnasium, Roger S. Penske Hall of Fame
Families are welcome to tour the fitness center and swimming pool. While on campus, visit the Roger S. Penske Hall of Fame and Galleries to learn about the key elements of the Lehigh athletics story. Operating hours are:
Friday, Nov. 4: 6:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 5: 12 p.m.–4 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 6: 12 p.m.–11 p.m.

Mulvihill Golf Learning Center
Lehigh’s golf complex, off College Drive on the north side of Goodman Campus, features 25 driving stations with five target greens. For hours and fees, visit the golf complex website.
